Can Gramunt is one of the medieval farmhouse buildings of the La Torre de Claramunt municipality, built in the 16th century.
Its complete refurbishment between 2010 and 2014 included the creation of three spacious apartments, a separate small building with a large communal space used for different activities, an outdoor swimming pool, gardens and terraces with magnificent views, situated in a picturesque environment surrounded by vineyards and the hills of central Catalonia.
The site maintains the traditional centuries-old structure, which consists of the main building and annex buildings surrounded by a natural stone wall.

The courtyard
The courtyard at the entrance welcomes the guests with a Mediterranean atmosphere, complete with local plants, the century old olive tree and the peach tree. The ancient wooden door of the entrance to the caretaker’s house on the ground floor has been marked by many generations, and the deep well which made life easy in the farmhouse for many years can be found in one corner of the patio.
The Garden
A corridor between the main farmhouse building and the annex building leads to the restored stone arch of the main entrance of the building, through which the apartments are accessed, and to the garden. The garden is sheltered by the ancient stone wall that surrounds the premises, yet the large opening adjacent to the wooden deck allows magnificent views over the valley, the Claramunt Castle and Montserrat Mountain beyond.
The swimming pool
A lush green lawn surrounds the swimming pool, which, with its 4.00 x 10.00 meters, is a central feature of the garden. One end of the pool is only 0.8 m deep, so that smaller children can touch the ground, and the other end has a depth of 1.8 m, which allows the older children to jump into the water. Comfortable deck chairs and the lush lawn invite you to recline, relax and sunbathe.
The multipurpose room
The annex building has a large open 80m2 room with a fully equipped kitchen and large windows to the courtyard and the garden providing lots of natural light. This space can be used for group activities such as cooking, playing or dancing, but also is an ideal space for hosting seminars or project meetings for national or international projects, and it is equipped with a projector and screen. Away from the office and the distractions of the city, this tranquil and natural environment encourages maximum concentration of the participants.
The wine cellar
The wine cellar, featuring the restored original arched ceiling, is situated in the main entrance area of the house. A selection of wines and cavas (sparkling wine) are stored here, as well as other local delicacies. Some products, as for example an excellent white wine or the goat cheese, are produced on the neighbour’s farm. They are artisan products and made almost exclusively for us.
The peach tree
The peach tree in the entrance courtyard may not be the most beautiful tree of the region, however, thanks to the care of all the participants in the process it has survived the refurbishment works of the building. It is a local and rare species and produces delicious peaches, which the guests who spend their holiday in the harvest season will be able to enjoy. If you miss them, you may try the homemade peach jam.
The staircase
The central staircase was rebuilt using the traditional “voltacatalana” (Catalan arch) system. Once widely used, nowadays not many builders preserve the knowledge of how it is constructed. The separate sections and the finishes reflect the original staircase, complete with local terracotta tiles framed in pinewood. The roof skylight centrally above the stairs provides natural light just as in the original staircase, but using modern technology.
The kitchen
All holiday apartments as well as the multipurpose room have fully equipped kitchens including a gas stove, refrigerator with a freezer compartment, dishwasher and all necessary kitchen utensils. For the convenience of our guests,a communal washing machine can be found on the ground floor.
