The Montserrat Massif is a rock climbing paradise with climbs for different levels of expertise. The south wall alone displays 5000 different possibilities of ascending, boasting 1500 safety anchors and up to 300m vertical walls.
Nevertheless, Montserrat remains the destination of mostly local climbers as the conglomerate rock poses a special challenge. The best climbing conditions can be found in spring and autumn. Summertime climbers have to be early birds to avoid the heat of the day.
